Entertainment comes in many forms. There is no one in this world who would not like to be entertained. Wrestling as a form of entertainment is a sport in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Japan. It came to be an international event in the 1980s with the development of WWF. The history of professional wrestling is long though, dating back to the early nineteenth century.

During the times of fierce competition in 1990s, the highly entertaining sport achieved high financial support such as World Champion Wrestling, World Champion Federation, and Extreme Champion Wrestling. In the late 1860s and late 1870s during post civil war period is when wrestling in form of traveling performers paid for people during staged performances. During this time carnies worked as their sponsors and bookers.

The game started in the carnival stage. This is the time that professional wrestlers were so popular and entertaining. They were traveling around the states showing people the different ways of fighting. At this time the sport was a form of entertainment and not competition. People would come out in large numbers to watch this people perform on the stage. There were also managers who chose how wrestlers would gain fame and money.

Although it was not a form of competing to get rich at its early stages the winning wrestler was sponsored and booked by managers. There were also compensation and tokens of appreciations for the winning wrestler. The managers encouraged the wrestlers so as to make the sport more entertaining and interesting. Interest of money making from the wrestlers made it seem to be business and the entertaining part of it became less popular thus distinguishing itself from the amateur background.

History of wrestlers also went on to be built by the introduction of television sets in the continent. Technology makes things change thus bringing change to professional wrestling. It was used as a platform by wrestlers to familiarize themselves with the people. 1950s was the time that professional the highly entertaining sport was aired on the television. It made the game more popular for people who had never seen it or heard about it.

Due to the introduction of television, many people joined the sport not only to be seen on television but also to get money. It changed from what was known as an entertainment field to a business field. People are fighting for fame and money and unlike before people were fighting to entertain people and bring them together.

Wrestling is the oldest sport. It has a record of history in the ancient civilizations. Catch and catch style is a modern way of the game that was introduced by the United States and United Kingdom during the 19th century. The older form of the game which was practiced before the 19th century was referred to as Greco Roman style. This style prohibited grabbing below the waist. The catch and catch style differed and allowed holding above and below the waist.Both styles were popular and legitimate part-time and professional sports.

Many more joined the wrestling groups. The new members not only joined the federation to entertain the crowd but also as a business. What was known as an entertainment game to the people was turned to be a business activity by the new members. They changed the history of professional wrestling from how entertaining it was to how one can earn from it. The sport has remained to be a business and people join it for fame and money.
